Kate takes cover, following behind Cass without even a thought. Her rifle appears in her hands as she ducks down and glances around at the others, mentally taking stock of everyone and making sure they're all still there.
"Could say that again. Fuckin' snipers-- no offense, ma'am." Kate hisses, ending with an apologetic nod towards Tess.
"Anything else you can tell us about this guy?" She calls out to the bounty hunter.

"Not like we've got a choice but to deal with them. They're in our way," Hikaru says, leaning up against the colossal rock. "Sounds like you're up though, Tess. Bet you've been itching to take that sniper for a spin, yeah?"
He peers out at the shouting man, then looks back to Cass. "Doesn't seem like he's a bad guy. And he did warn us after all. So let's not kill him, but that doesn't mean we can't get some leverage on him or whatever."

"Plenty," the bounty hunter replies to Kate, still shouting from rock to rock. "I can give you half their life story. The delivery is better when I don't have to yell though," he adds, clearly a little frustrated by your group still hanging back.

Tess watches in terrified admiration as Kate rigs up the grav container to take them across the gorge, finding herself closing her eyes several times as they cross out of fear of falling.
And here I thought just space scared the shit out of me. Add jury-rigged anti-grav over a certain death drop as another, hell.
Shit, that's not good, Tess thinks, as they spot the man hiding out in front of them.
He's got a drone and all, must be part of one of the sides' military. Or maybe a guerilla fighter? Her suspicions only grow as the man mentions being a Shikari, further still as the bullet whizzes past.
"Yeah, been wanting to for sure," Tess responds to Hikaru.
"Not exactly fond of being in the line of fire myself, though. Lemme take a look," she continues, nodding to Cass, holding a chuckle at Kate's disgust.
Can't say I blame you, you've probably been on the receiving end a lot more often than me. "Tell me when you've got the drone ready to draw their attention."
Tess will train her scope on the sniper(s) at Cass' signal, lemme know what to roll to get a better look. Notice/something I assume

On Cass' signal, the Black Owl darts out from the rocks once more, as does Tess. While not long enough to draw a bead on the other sniper, she is out of cover just long enough to take in the scene, before another shot forces both her and the Owl back behind the rock formation.
Ahead you can see that once again the cluster of rocky pillars give way to some open terrain, where you spot a small off-road buggy not too far away - mostly likely the way the pinned down man got here. Further in the distance, another offshoot of the main canyon cuts across your path, however, this time the gap is thankfully bridged by what looks to be an ancient sandstone bridge, weathered and crumbling slightly but clearly still standing and structurally sound.
Near the bridge, about 800 metres from your current position, sits a small ruined tower of a similar construction and age to the bridge. Quickly surveying the tower through your scope, you catch a couple of glints, but you are unable to work out whether they are that of enemy scopes or simply something metal before you feel you have pushed your luck and move back into cover. Another gunshot following soon after confirming your decision as the correct one.

Creed takes a knee behind the cover, and wonders if he has the strength to sprint to the other side. "What's the call, captain? Do we get Tess to shoot, or are we making a break for, this uh... Shikari guy?" He asks, keeping his voice low, his fear clear on his face.

From the way the two rock formations line up you can get to the bounty hunter without exposing yourselves to the tower.

God, he's whiny. Hikaru rolls his eyes at the Shikari's persistent complaints about having to yell. He turns to Creed and shrugs. "Both sounds solid," the idol says, keeping an eye on the man ahead of them. "Let's just stay on our guard still though, yeah? But he's outnumbered so he shouldn't try anything too stupid."

"Fuck," Tess says, as the bullet whizzes past her head again. Picked a good time to duck, that could've been bad. "I think the sniper's in that tower over there," she says, motioning in the direction that she saw the possible sniper perch. "Any chance you can get a good zoom on that spot with the Owl?" she asks, turning to Cass.

"Not yet, without taking a round," Cass answers Tess. "But that gives me an idea. Tess, Kaze, you're in effective firing range of that shithead. I say, you two drown them in lead from here. They won't have a chance to peek shots on us. Meanwhile, the merc, Doc, and — shit, I dunno, maybe Creed — make a break for that buggy, with the intent to assault the watchtower. Not head-on, of course. I can watch shots on the Owl and call when you need to zig-zag."
Wonder what the Chief and the Captain could do, then, other than sit back here and wait.

Dangerous plan, just like the old days. You need balls to propose a plan like that. Moreso if you intend to stay back yourself. Warner thinks, as he remembers the countless times he and his soldiers stormed entrenched positions and the countless faces of good men and women lost doing so.
"Solid plan. Tess, Kaze, if you manage to nail that marksman I owe you a bottle of the good stuff." Warner says to keep the spirits up, as they plan their perilous charge.
"Creed, are you as good behind the wheel as in a cockpit? You're probably our best bet for driving that buggy."

"Just... don't get your heads blown off, yeah?" Hikaru says, a hint of uneasiness in his voice. The idol approaches the Shikari, staying safely behind the ancient rock pillar. He crosses his arms and cocks his head. "Alright, you don't have to yell now, so could you tell us what you know about these guys? Maybe my crew and I can help you out. Rather, maybe we can help each other out?"

Creed smiles at the good doctor's question, the fear and worry that previously covered his face seems to wash away. "I can drive anything, ground, sea, or air." He says and looks toward the buggy. "If the goal is to get to the sniper, I guarantee we can get there in one piece."

"Well it should just be the one, though his brother might be up there too - hard to tell. His name is Durga Gerrtas. Owned a homestead a few hundred kilometres from here. Ran into money trouble and couldn't pay his rent to the local lord. Killed three of the men that came to evict him and then ran," the bounty hunter replies to Hikaru, who is now able to get a better look at him.
"I'm sure we can work out a split for the bounty. Javier Alvarado," he adds offering the captain a hand.
"You guys Cartage Guild?" He asks, noticing Hikaru's ring.

"A bounty, huh. How much is on his head?" Hikaru asks the man with a curious smirk. He returns the handshake, giving a quick nod. "Hikaru Tsukiakari, and yeah, we're with Cartage. This Durga guy's kind of in our way, so working together would benefit all of us." He looks back to the pillar the others remain behind. "We were thinking of using suppressing fire to have some of ours make a break for that buggy. Anything you can do to help there? Or other ideas?"

"8,000," Javier says to Hikaru. "A 70-30 split seems fair considering you guys couldn't claim it in full yourselves anyway," he adds.
"Not a bad plan - better than mine at least. After he got the jump on me, my plan was to wait here until nightfall and make a move then. My long gun is still in the buggy unfortunately so I can't help suppress him from here, but I'll join the assault," he says.

"Hey, what's the play here, Cap? We ready to do this?" Cass calls around the outcropping, his nerves overcoming his patience in the moment. Let's hope he's brokering some sort of deal with this guy. Or at least getting him to agree to lending us his wheels for a moment.

"Our friend Javier here's gonna to help us out," Hikaru shouts back to the anxious Cass, his trained voice fortunately used to projecting. Dude wouldn't last a minute on a concert stage with a broken mic. But he's not wrong. It'd get annoying to have to keep it up. "We get a piece of the bounty, and he'll join in with the assault. His gun's in the buggy, so leave some room for him in it, yeah?"
"Good to go when you all are though."

Cass lets out an uneasy sigh. Shit, we're really doing this. He looks up at the Black Owl, tapping his teeth together in idle anxiety. The fuck am I worried about? I'm not even gonna be in this shithead's sights. No, just nearly all the people I care about in this world.
"Okay, I'll send the drone out to draw fire. Kaze, Tess, get ready to light that watchtower up. Creed, Doc — as soon as suppressive fire's coming out, that's your cue." He raises his voice. "Alright, Cap, count us off!"

Count us off? Like this is some kind of fucking New Year's celebration and not potential death? Hikaru wonders in flustered, anxious confusion. Well, if it'll make him feel better.
"Uh, alright. On my mark. Three.... two... one... engage!" Fuck, that sounded dweeby. Still better than any of the lyrics on our first album though.

"Right," Tess responds, eager to off her fellow sharpshooter after the two near-misses.
I'd personally rather deck him in the mouth, maybe knock a few teeth out, but I can settle for trying this out for real, she thinks as she readies her sniper rifle. Let's just hope that with enough things happening, his aim goes way down. Not looking to lose my own head here.

You ignore Shock damage from melee assailants, even if you’re unarmored at the time.
Level 2: The Shock damage from your melee attacks treats all targets as if they were AC 10.
The Fighting Withdrawal combat action is treated as an On Turn action for you and can be performed freely.

As Kaze's second burst of fire impacts the tower, it looks like one of the rounds is on target, going through the sniper's window rather than hitting the sandstone wall like the others before it. Though at this distance it is still hard for anyone but Tess with her scope to tell exactly what is happening in the tower.
Warner, Creed and Javier continue to make for the buggy while there is a brief reprieve as the sniper either reloads or has been taken out of the fight by Kaze's fire. Tess reloads her own rifle, readying another shot.
Aiming at the tower window once more, you make out movement of some kind within.
Go: Tess
Cass: pilots drone.
Hikaru: does nothing.
Warner: double moves.
Kaze: shoots, misses, deals 4 damage, kills?.
Tess: reloads, presumably.
Sniper: ? ?
Kate: does nothing, presumably.
Javier: double moves.
Creed: double moves, presumably.
Squares are 10m x 10m, so a full move action can move 1 square, and running with a main action will meant a total of 2 squares moved in total. Due to the bigger squares, more than one character can occupy the same square.
The rocks and the canyon are inaccessible, unless you want to climb up/down them for some reason, which we can work out when it comes to it.

"I still see some movement up there, but I think you snagged him," Tess says, as she lines up another shot at the sniper's location. This time her aim is much more on point, and she smirks as she watches the bullet impact.
Get fucked, asshole.
Main Action: shoot at tower asshole again
Attack:
[1d20+5]=19+5=24 = hit, presumably?
Hit:
[2d8+1]=7+1=8

Tess' shot flies true, dropping another figure in the tower. Kaze and Tess keep their sights trained on the tower as the trio of Javier, Warner and Creed continue to make for the bounty hunter's off-road buggy, however as the three men reach the vehicle and take cover, there has yet to be anymore return fire from the tower.
As you reach the buggy, Javier grabs a sniper rifle from a holster strapped to the vehicle's roll cage, training its sights on the tower in the distance.
"You know? I think they got him," he says after a moment of surveying the tower. "Your friend must be quite a shot. So, still stick to the plan? Or should we regroup and approach the tower together?" He asks.
End of Combat?
Tess: hits, kills?
