History
The most northwestern settlement on the Andorian Peninsula, Wolfrun Keep is also one of the oldest. It was founded early on in the colonisation of the Peninsula in the late Fourth Era, by a young Tulrissian nobleman, Lokhir Aerden. Lokhir was the younger brother of Falrus Aerden, the then Ruler of Spearpoint Castle. As the younger brother, Lokhir stood to inherit very little and took it upon himself to forge his own realm. After gathering funds and men, he set off for the Peninsula to the south seeking to claim part of it for House Aerden.
He originally intended to settle in the south of the Peninsula, however his little funding meant supplies on board his ships were running low with still a few days left before they would make land. As a result Lokhir was forced to go ashore in the north of the peninsula, where the land was less fertile. There he established Wolfrun Keep and worked hard to create a thriving community. He proclaimed himself Baron of Wolfrun, pledging his allegiance to his brother, the Lord of Spearpoint Castle back in Tulrisse. Seeing his brother’s successes, Lokhir was tasked with securing more land for the Aerden’s and his brother began to actively support him. Unfortunately, after only a few years, Falrus passed away and his son was less than supportive of his Uncle’s venture to the South. Eventually the support from Tulrisse all but dried up. The Andorian Aerdens had begun to no longer see themselves as Tulrissians and declared independence. The current King was old and had more pressing issues to deal with and the small, distant settlement was simply ignored.
Over the years and generations, Fort Sakura, to the East, grew, becoming a bustling city. This stunted the growth of Wolfrun Keep and eventually led to its decline. Currently ruled over by the recently widowed Baron Hasten Aerden, the settlement is a shadow of its former self, consisting of just the Keep itself, an inn and a few farms. Still, being the most North-Westerly settlement on the Peninsula, the Keep experiences greater contact with Tulrisse to the North and Ghalfas Isle further to the West. Notably most recently, there have been rumors suggesting the appearance of a group of Cultists from the Cult of Three Eyes.
