On Religion in Ganoltir

Note: This section is meta-knowledge that would not be known by any mortals.

There are 11 actual deities that exist canonically in the world of Ganoltir. These gods have existed since time immemorial, and often take action (though usually indirect and cryptic) on the playing field of Ganoltir. The denizens of the world do not worship, or even know about them, directly. There are many religions in Ganoltir, and the varying levels of worship or belief that the people exhibit may or may not be unwittingly based on a true god.

For example, when dwarves worship Karr, the Judge, they are actually giving prayer to the God of Order. However, when they worship Fauren, the Builder, their prayers are in vain. Some religions worship deities that are actually comprised of multiple true gods. An example of this the Sek-bas, the Serran Goddess of Cats, Fire, and the Sun. When followers of the Serran Pantheon worship Sek-bas, they are actually heeding prayer to the God of Fauna, and the God of Fire.

Norendezzar

A once-powerful magister-king in Forelle, he has since become an undead demi-god intent on ascending fully to godhood and, eventually, ruling over all of the gods. He has a following called The Cult of Three Eyes.

A Note on Champions

These true gods are jealous of this praise to some extent, going out of their way to act on the world to shape it to their will.
